Do you know your Body's Daily Cycle?
3 Body cycles (Your Body's 3 daily seasons)
Most of us know that Nature goes through different seasons (Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall) but did you know that your body also goes through seasons or "cycles"? Your body goes through (3) three 8-hour cycles per day. These seasons cycles are known as the "CIRCADIAN RYTHMS".
I hope you find the following information most valuable.
These 3 cycles include:
1) The Elimination cycle (The body's wastes and food debris period) 4am-12pm
2) The Appropriation cycle (The eating and digestion period) 12pm-8pm
3) The Assimilation cycle (The absorption and use period) 8pm-4am
We don't think about how the body's process to eat, digest, and use food all while cleaning at the same time to varying degrees. Evidence has shown that from approximately 4am until about noon, the body is cleansing itself. "This is why a lot of people find themselves eliminating waste shortly after waking for the day", and for those who wake later in the day may find themselves on a similar routine. Your body may not be in sync with each cycle, however your body still recognizes this cycle.
The "ELIMINATION" period - During this 8 hour cycle, the ideal foods we should eat are raw fruits or fruit smoothie, raw vegetables or green juices because they require very little digestion and are the only foods which do not interfere with this process. Therefore, it would be ideal to include as much fresh/raw organic fruits or vegetables, blended juice or smoothies into your morning routine and Slowly cut down (and ideally cut out) other items such as {Don't shoot the messenger} coffee, doughnuts, processed sugar, and etc. Oh! by the way, the first thing you should {ideally} consume after waking for the day is 1 glass of water (room temperature "In my opinion") preferably with a half of squeezed lemon. This is the reason why "Break - Fast" is the most important part of how you start your day.
The most natural way to fast, is to use your body's natural cycle to do so. While you are sleeping you are not eating therefore if time has elapsed 8 - 12 hours since your last meal it can be considered as Fasting. So for example, a person is assumed to be fasting when at least 8–12 hours have elapsed since the last meal. Hence, Breaking-the-Fast since the last meal.
Understanding how the body works, when the body works and the effects of the process is one of the most valuable asset to living a healthy life style.
The APPROPRIATION period - The second 8 hour cycle, is between 12pm (noon) and 8pm which, is when most of us eat our two main or largest meals of the day - lunch and dinner. This is the time when the body is most efficient at the process of digesting foods. This is also the time when the body is at it's optimal peak for burning energy or metabolizing foods since we are most active.
This is also the time when you should be mindful of what you consume such as foods that works well with your body's metabolism for example, {fish, legumes, nuts, seeds, lentils, peas, chickpeas, black beans, and other types of nuts like Brazil nuts, Almonds, and Walnuts. {Make sure you have no allergies to the previously mentioned foods}
The ASSIMILATION period - The third and final 8 hour cycle, is between 8pm and 4am which is the time for utilizing the food you have consumed during the day. This is also the time your body is absorbing nutrients and minerals from food which gets transported to your organs, bones and cells via the blood. It is when the rebuilding, renewing and healing takes place hence the need for the proper amount of sleep during this process. It is important to understand when to consume your last meal of the day (recommended no later 6:00pm) based on an ideal daily schedule. As this period draws to a close {just like the last season in the year} the first cycle starts over again.
TIP: Sunlight is an essential part your body's process to induce the production of certain necessary chemicals such as Vitamin D{D-3}, Beta-endorphin which activates the feel-good processes in the brain, Melatonin is produce at optimal levels when exposed to certain levels of sunlight, sunlight also plays an important role of the release Melatonin at night for a good night's sleep.
